Efficient monitoring of critical infrastructure
With its WHVI®-VIS visualization and information system - based on atvise® from Bachmann - ESA Elektroschaltanlagen Grimma GmbH has developed a solution that makes rail transportation more punctual.
According to an ADAC survey from 2024, 40% of people would be willing to change their mobility behavior in everyday life and 35% in their leisure time in order to travel in a more climate-friendly way - provided that more reliable rail and public transport services were available.
The WHVI®-VIS visualization and information system is used in railway operations and acts as a central platform for monitoring, visualizing and controlling electrical energy systems, including point heating systems, track field lighting, air conditioning and lifting systems. atvise® from Bachmann offers an optimum basis as a visualization solution, as it works without client installations and is based on open standards. The open standards make it possible to implement customer-specific requirements, such as secure remote maintenance. This feature also makes it possible to dispense with plug-ins, while the powerful SVG files used guarantee loss-free scaling for all resolutions. The range of functions includes historical data storage, alarm processing and extensive trending functions. Central control centres enable employees to monitor the status of the systems and respond immediately to alarms. Mobile devices can be used to access the visualization data, which provides an additional opportunity to identify potential faults in advance and thus prevent failures.
Efficient and future-proof monitoring
The special feature of this project is the simple and clear way in which authorized persons can use the visualization. More than 1000 systems are monitored with just one control centre, and all information can be called up on any web browser or end device. The use of pure web technology makes this system future-proof so that it is always state of the art.
The user interface developed by ESA Elektroschaltanalgen Grimma GmbH controls the display of the system status and operation via access rights.
Secure data transmission between the control system and the system using VPN technology and high data integrity in the event of a connection failure thanks to integrated data storage at system level ensure smooth operation.
