Display Deviations in Chrome-Based Browsers from v150 Onwards
July 2026: With the release of Google Chrome v150, display deviations may occur in webMI visualizations when using Chrome-based browsers (e.g., Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge). The cause is a change in the browser's behavior — the atvise® and webMI software itself is not affected.
Affected Products: webMI Pro and all visualizations based on the webMI SDK may be affected. atvise® itself is not affected by this behavior.
Cause: The issue stems from a bug in Chrome-based browsers from version v150 onwards: XML and SVG content within CDATA blocks is incorrectly aborted as incomplete during segmented network transmission. This can lead to faulty rendering in the visualization. This is a known Chrome bug, documented by Google in the public Chromium Issue Tracker. The deviations are therefore caused exclusively by the changed browser behavior and not by the atvise® or webMI software.
Current Status and Solution
Google has already identified and fixed the bug. The fix is scheduled for Google Chrome 151.0.7916.0 (not yet released at this time). In Google Chrome Canary (version 152.0.7947.0), the behavior can no longer be reproduced. No intervention or patch on the part of atvise® is required.
